At Allure, we get inundated with the latest and greatest of beauty's offerings every day. Most of it is exciting, some of it confusing, and sometimes it gets overwhelming — alas, that is the beauty editor's burden to bear. When we really like something, though, you can trust that our opinion has come from vetting it against everything we've seen before. It's a big beauty playground out there and we'll gladly do the dirty work to test everything under the sun. The top of the top that we encounter graduate to our Best of Beauty trials. Speaking about overwhelming — let's stick to the present for now and just talk about the brand-new hair, makeup, and skin-care products we're obsessing over right now.

"I haven't stopped using this since I got it. It's my go-to lazy girl eye palette. I use whatever bronzer I have on that day in my crease and a few pats of the J'adore, the warm terracotta shade, on my lids for a nice warm, smoky look. When I'm feeling fancy I use the gold shade, to highlight my brow bone and inner corner. The formula of these shadows is so creamy that I can apply and blend them with just my fingers." — Kat Suico, assistant beauty editor

"It's easy to say this summer's beauty trend is body shimmer. With so many on the market, it's hard to find one that is perfect for you. This Coppertone Glow not only has a beautiful glowy sheen to it, but it's also affordable and has SPF 50 in its formula. So you can turn heads this summer while still being protected by the sun. What's better than that?" — Angela Trakoshis, editorial assistant

"Lately, I’ve been really interested in testing out CBD beauty products but this was my first time using anything specifically for my muscles. I used it on my shoulders which naturally tighten up from hunching over at a desk and my husband, who works on his feet all day, used it for his back. Despite the different levels of muscle pain we have — him more than me — we both felt immediate relief that lasted into the next day. The texture is like a balm so it’s easy to apply and feels light on the skin. I also love that though the scent is very subtle, you can definitely smell the rosemary and lavender, which adds to the soothing effect." — Danielle Odiamar, senior social media manager

"This warm and soft scent is the epitome of luxurious comfort for me. It's a mix of musky florals with an unexpected mist of sea spray that makes me think of spending a summer in the South of France like the wealthy, worldly woman I aspire to be. (Someone please take me there. Literally, anyone. Please.)" — Sable Yong, digital makeup editor

"These new Ultra Seamless tape-ins by Glam Seamless are semi-permanent tape-ins with an essentially invisible strip. Trust me, I have tried many different weft types and none are as discreet and flexible as these virgin hair extensions. Plus, the locks also has more hair per pack so you don't need to put in so many tape-ins. Score!" — Madisen Theobald, social media manager

"Since I cut my hair very short last year, I've learned that the time I save in washing and conditioning my hair is proportionate to the time I now spend on styling it. I've been experimenting with different pomades, waxes, and even held, as well as a range of textures and holds. Most gave me relatively similar results, but this push-up pomade stick from R+Co — given to me by our highly knowledgeable hair editor, Jihan Forbes, as I was yet again panicking about my flyaways and cowlicks — is the first one I've found that doesn’t just feature a nice formula, but also packaging that really sets it apart. By putting its product in a small, portable stick that doesn’t require me to dip my fingers into a jar, R+Co. has made it infinitely easier to bring its pomade with me anywhere and apply it anytime." — Sam Escobar, digital deputy director

"For someone like me with dry legs, I'm not the best when it comes to moisturizing after I shower. The Perfect Legs 100% Natural Scrub from This Works, made with pink Himalayan salt and essential oils, is a lifesaver for lazy people like me. I scrub right before getting in the shower and come out to the world's softest legs — seriously, I have not found anything better." — Angela Trakoshis, editorial assistant

"This is like a buttoned-up version of a Tahitian vacation — the scent actually reminds me of one of my favorite body oils featuring the scent of monoi. I love floral scents when they're grounded in musky, skin-scent notes, and this is exactly that with the added bonus of sunny warmth to it that makes me smell myself all day when I'm wearing it. I don't care if I look weird doing it, I smell freakin' amazing." — Sable Yong, digital makeup editor

"Ellis Brooklyn, formerly only known for its fragrances and candles, recently came out with this new massage-and-body oil that is incredibly relaxing and comes in this super chic bottle. With CBD being the core ingredient along with the citrus notes, it's guaranteed to zen anyone out. Also, the founder of Ellis Brooklyn, Bee Shapiro, is a beauty editor herself — so that's how you know it's good." — Kelly Bales, digital editorial director

"I love this bronzer because it's 'vacation me' in a powder. Right now, I'm using the shade, Island Ting, and it's perfect. It's not too red or brown — just me but bronzed. I love the formula, too. There's no kickback, so I don't have to worry about it spreading to unwanted areas of my face." — Kat Suico, assistant beauty editor

"A few weeks ago, I ran my fifth half marathon. It was an incredible experience that brought me a lot of pride — and a hell of a lot of pain. To soothe my achy, post-race limbs, I rubbed the Elmore Mountain Farm Arnica Cream onto my legs and feet for a few days after my big run. The balm-like arnica cream, which is made with a slew of essential oils (peppermint, eucalyptus, lavender, and ginger), along with nourishing shea butter and castor oil, feels cool on contact and leaves behind a minty scent to settle soreness. Now, even weeks after the race, I still find myself reaching for the little white tub when I start aching." — Sarah Kinonen, digital skin editor

"I've been trying to cut back on blowouts and encourage my 2B texture to thrive, and this 'air dry cream' has made that so much easier. Applying it right after I shower has led to some of my least-frizzy curls and waves ever." — Marci Robin, contributing editor

"I'm a redhead, so when the boy brow first came en vogue, I had to sit and watch from the sidelines. That is, until my friend passed along this little lady. The Hourglass Arch Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel has a beautiful auburn shade that is perfect for medium-to-deep redheads. The formula is light and does not clump, making it great to layer on for the right amount of color added to your brow. I've already gone through two tubes, now onto my third." — Tracey Zane, director of content development

"This stuff feels soothing the instant you rub it in. It does have that cannabis scent, but it's more of a grown-and-sexy, light cologne smell instead of a 'college stoner' aroma." — Jihan Forbes, digital hair editor

"I once read — in an Allure article, of course — that you should have a different fragrance for every season of the year. This summer, I will be dousing myself in Diptyque's Eau Rose Eau de Toilette. With notes of fresh rose petals and honey, this sweet aroma has you smelling like a fresh, and very delicate bouquet. This summer, everything is actually coming up roses — I'm very into it." — Madisen Theobald, social media manager

"I have a confession: I never use an eye cream, I always felt like they're too thick and heavy. But then I met with Odacité founder Valerie Grandury, and she introduced me to the Odacite Ba+S Eye Contour. It's lightweight, oil-based formula is cool to the touch when applied with its stainless steel roller. I love it for my dark circles." — Angela Trakoshis, editorial assistant

"These liquid highlighters are the stuff of glass skin dreams. I squirt a tiny dot of it on my finger, dab it on my cheekbones, and it shines for days. The brilliant thing about this formula is that it's a gel-oil kind of texture that never quite dries down so that glossy effect remains throughout its wear but it melts into your skin so you don't feel sticky. The shimmery bits are so fine that it leaves a really subtle veil of bronze, rose, or blue-flecked clear that boosts the saturation of my blush. The tubes are quite generously sized considering the small amount you need to use so you could even use it as a body highlighter if you want." — Sable Yong, digital makeup editor

“I think everyone can agree with me when I say the feeling of getting a blowout is one of the best in the world. I always wanted that same feeling but without leaving the comfort of my home. Once I came across this hair dryer, my dreams came true, and today I almost prefer my own blowout with this to a salon — that says a lot.” — Angela Trakoshis, editorial assistant

"My favorite perfume line extended its Rose Of No Man's Land collection with a hair perfume and hand cream. This hand cream is a product I can just throw it in my bag. There's no greasy finish and because the scent has such beautiful notes, I sometimes substitute it as a perfume. — Kelly Bales, digital editorial director

“On a recent trip to Paris, I was shopping at Guerlain’s beautiful Champs-Élysées store for the perfect souvenir for my coworker Madisen and was immediately drawn to the Rouge G Customizable Lipstick and Case. The case, which comes in a variety of different colors and styles, automatically opens to reveal a small mirror when you remove the lipstick of your choice. There’s a wide variety of classic and now matte colors to choose from that you can easily swap in and out so you never have to settle for one color. On top of that, you can have the mirror engraved with the person’s name or a short message — the perfect gift for a makeup lover. I was honestly a little jealous I didn’t get one for myself.” — Danielle Odiamar, senior social media manager

"I love body lotion. But what I enjoy even more than the lotion itself is the application process. You see, I'm one of Those People who has to immediately coat themselves in moisturizer within seconds of hopping out of the tub — while my skin is still wet. (If you're now picturing me running naked from my shower to my bedroom, that's exactly how this haphazard process works. Honestly, I'm surprised I haven't hurt myself yet.) But after discovering the Jergens Natural Glow Wet Skin Moisturizer, an in-shower moisturizer that doesn't require leaving the shower to lotion up, I'm a changed woman. The subtle glow that pops up a few days later is just a bonus." — Sarah Kinonen, digital skin editor

"This cleansing gel is an amazing gel-to-oil texture that is so satisfying. The product is a beautiful auburn color and smells like rose and chamomile. Just one pump onto dry skin goes a long way. I love the feeling of gently massaging my skin with the gel (not just a quick, fast cleanse), allowing it sit for a few seconds, and then adding a bit of water for a deeper cleanse before washing it away with a warm washcloth. I usually apply it before getting into the shower, so it's super refreshing in the warm shower mist. It is so good — no other cleanser will ever feel the same." — Tracey Zane, director of content development

"This is one of the only face oils I've tried that works with my combination skin. It absorbs quickly and doesn't leave my face feeling oily, and just a few weeks after starting to use it, my complexion feels more even. I also use it on the ends of my hair if I've just washed it and they're feeling a little dry — it's kind of my all-purpose miracle product." — Rosemary Donahue, digital wellness editor

“This brand-new, crazy-affordable product from African Pride is meant for locs and twist-outs, but it's quickly became one of my top three edge controls. It's the perfect consistency for my baby hairs and while it does have excellent hold, it's easy to manipulate the hair and doesn't leave behind that overly shiny, greasy film that other edge controls sometimes do. Also doesn't hurt that this stuff is packed with black castor and coconut oils, which penetrate your hair to make them feel really soft.” — Jihan Forbes, digital hair editor

“Baby hairs are cute. Breakage from bleach isn't. This pomade hides and holds mine in place while making my hair look healthy and shiny when it's clearly not.” — Kat Suico, beauty assistant

“Yellow is probably not the first color that comes to mind when you think of mascara. But this Colourpop BFF Mascara in Yellow Goodbye will completely change your mind. Packed with pigment, this volumizing mascara lengthens your lashes perfectly and leaves you with long, bright-yellow lashes.” — Gabi Thorne, editorial assistant
